Recommended Use: In recipes for Steamed buns, cookies and crackers. Common in old-fashioned recipes, Baker's Ammonia is a leavening agent, but it doesn't produce an alkaline flavor like baking soda or powder. Can be used as a substitute for baking soda or baking powder to make baked goods crispier or to eliminate a potential salty or soapy aftertaste.While working with Baking Ammonia, you will most likely smell ammonia. Be assured that your baked goods will not taste or smell like it, and the odor will soon go away. Do not eat raw batter or dough containing this ingredient. Our Bakers Ammonia is kosher.

Caution: Do not use for moist, bulky baked goods, such as normal bread or cakes, since some ammonia will be trapped inside and will cause an unpleasant taste.

Storage: Store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. For best results, store Baking Ammonia in an airtight container; it will evaporate if not correctly stored.
