Other than plain rice, multigrain rice is a nutrient-rich staple to pair with any meal. There is no limitation on what grains to use. You can switch them to whatever you have and whatever you like, such as oat, barley, millet, sorghum, legumes, and white rice. Just be aware that white rice does not need to be soaked overnight
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups of jasmine rice
- 3 tbsp of the coix seeds jobs tears
- 3 tbsp of wild rice
- 3 tbsp of red beans
- 3 tbsp of mung beans.
- 2.5 - 2.75 cups of water depending on how soft you want your rice to be
Directions
Soak the coix seeds, wild rice, red beans, mung beans in water overnight.
- combine the jasmine rice with the soaked multi-grains. Rinse thoroughly then drain completely.
- Add 2.5-3 cups of water to the multi-grain rice. Bring it to a boil. Then turn the heat to low. Simmer with the lid covered for 18 minutes. The water amount depends on how hard or soft you want your rice to be.
