Cantonese Sweet and Sour Pork

Sweet and sour pork [Chinese:酸甜咕噜肉][Cantonese: gu lou juk] is probably the most popular Chinese dish in US and in many places around the world. This dish is all about the balance. My version of it, you can still have the crunchy middle layer and really soft tender meat inside. The more you eat it, the harder it is to stop. There are tons of ways to make this dish. Every body has different taste. To me, this is perfect.

  • Most of the Cantonese sweet and sour dishes include onions as well as the papers and pineapple. I would certainly add some onions to this recipe.

  • @dz 1/4 cups should be about 60ml or 4 tablespoons in volume. You can also buy a set of measuring cups online, most American cooking channels on YouTube seem to use them.

  • Can’t you put the measurement in grams as well as cups? It would help half the world a lot.
