Homemade Red Bean Paste

Red bean paste is a dessert filling that is popular in Chinese cuisine. You can buy it in a package from Asian markets, but homemade always tastes better.

  • Thank you for your very helpful instruction! I don’t have an instant pot nor pressure cooker, so I cook the beans on the stove. However my paste always turns out a little grainy tasting and I hesitate to cook it more to dry it out. Should I add more vegetable oil instead?
