It started with feeding my sisters.
I grew up in Guangdong, China. My parents worked construction, long hours, so by the time I was ten I was the one cooking for my younger sisters. Nobody taught me — I figured it out at the stove, one dinner at a time.
Years later I moved to Florida, and I noticed something: the Chinese dishes I'd grown up making were the same ones people here loved to order out, but almost nobody thought they could cook them at home. They seemed intimidating. They aren't.
So in 2016 I started filming. One recipe at a time, in English, in a real home kitchen — showing that the food you love from your favorite takeout spot is absolutely something you can make yourself.
