This is a follow up recipe for the Chinese BBQ spice. If you haven't watch it yet, please take a look first, because we gonna use it in this dish. I am using store-bought frozen wontons for this recipe; although they are not as good as homemade ones, the BBQ spice enhances the taste and makes the soup super aromatic and flavors. It is so delicious that I would not waste a drop of that broth.

Ingredients
- 10 frozen wonton
-
1.5 tbsp of Chinese BBQ spice
- 1/2 tbsp of minced garlic
- 1.5 tbsp of diced scallion
- 1.5 tbsp of diced cilantro
- 2 tbsp of cooking oil
- 1/2 tbsp of Chinese black vinegar
- 350g / 1.5 cups of wonton boiling water
Directions
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Use your utensil to swirl the water to create a vortex. Then add the wontons. This way, they will flow with the water instead of sinking to the bottom directly. Otherwise, they will stick to the bottom and lose some skin.
- Turn the heat to low and simmer the wonton for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, add 1.5 tbsp of BBQ spice, 1.5 tsp of minced garlic, 1.5 tbsp of diced scallion, and 1.5 tbsp of diced cilantro to a heat-proof bowl. Heat 2 tbsp of oil to smoking hot and pour it onto the aromatics. Last, drizzle in 1/2 tbsp of Chinese black vinegar to balance the taste. If you don’t have it, use apple cider or balsamic vinegar.
- Add the wontons into the bowl, pour in 1.5 cups of the boiling broth, and mix well.
